I was diagnosed with systemic candida about 4 weeks ago by world renowned alternative medicine practictioner Jan De Vries. My own GP would not acknowledge systemic candida and could not comment on my symptoms other than it was stress. I had been taking the oral contraceptive pill for years, and was very stressed out with my recent pregancy that both were the cause of my candida problems. Anyway I was told to take Yeast Balance capsules twice daily between meals, Glucosomine capsules twice daily and 3 flaxseed oil capsules. I have been taking them for 4 weeks now and are beginning to feel better although I still have the terrible joint pain and muscle weakness/aches during the night. But I have been told that once the yeast organism starts to die off, it releases toxins into the bloodstream which can cause symptoms to become worse. This will soon settle down. Why don’t you try another alternative practicitioner if you feel the current one you are seeing is not helping. I recommend Jan De Vries, he has clinics all over the Great Britain. He has clinics in Ireland, England and Scotland. Check his website, and here is a diet sheet he sent me.
I hope you will feel better soon.

Candida Diet Advice Sheet
Introduction
Candida is a yeast organism. All of us have some candida within our body but is our immune system that keeps it in check and prevents an overgrowth. If your health is lowered or you have been using antibiotics for a long period of time candida may start to cause health problems and affect specific regions of the body such as the bowels, mouth, skin and genital regions (eg. Vaginal thrush). Exposure to the candida organism may also produce a number of more vague health issues including fatigue and low general energy, blood sugar imbalances, food intolerances as well as aggravating pre-existing health problems.
Getting rid of candida
The only effective way of getting rid of this persistent infection is to starve it out whilst improving your immune health and making the bodies internal environment more hostile to candida. Dietary therapy forms the corner stone to this treatment process and may take 6-8 weeks to be fully effective. During this time specific remedies can be of help to ease symptoms and stimulate a rapid return of health.
Dietary basics
Sugar will increase the growth of Candida so it is best to reduce your overall intake of carbohydrate based foods (eg. pasta, potatoes, bread and rice)
Avoid all yeast based foods or foods that use yeast in their manufacture, this includes mouldy foods such as blue vein cheese.
Some people find that avoiding dairy and cows milk products helps.

“Candidiasis is alleged to be successfully treated either with home remedies or, in the case of a more severe infection, with either over the counter or prescription antifungal medications. Home remedies for candidiasis include the consumption or direct application of yogurt, which contains lactobacillus (probiotics, “friendly” bacteria that kill yeast), acidophilus tablets or salves, and even lightly crushed cloves of garlic, which yield allicin, an anti fungal. Boric acid has also been used to treat yeast infections when gelcaps are filled with boric acid powder and two are inserted at bedtime for three to four nights. Another remedy is to douche with a weak mix of vinegar in water (1 teaspoon to 1 cup). Vinegar is acidic and changes the vagina’s acidity temporarily to a lower pH environment in which candida cannot survive.
While home remedies can offer relief in minor cases of infection, seeking medical attention can be necessary because the extent of the infection sometimes cannot be judged well by the sufferer. Prescription medication is often the only solution to an infection; the anti fungal drugs commonly used to treat candidiasis are topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole, topical ketoconazole. In severe infections (generally in hospitalized patients), amphotericin B, caspofungin, or voriconazole may be used. These medications are not effective against the more common bacterial vaginosis.
If indicated, an underlying reason should be looked for. As an example, oral candidiasis is often linked to the use of inhaled steroids in asthma medication. Patients on long term inhaled steroids should rinse their mouth after each dose of steroids. Sugar assists the overgrowth of yeast; thus, the increased prevalence of yeast infections in patients with diabetes mellitus, as noted above. In the case of frequent yeast infections, sugar can be looked to as a culprit and should be avoided. Nutritionists often recommend avoidance diets, eliminating sugar and often many other foods for a period. Extensive antibiotic treatment is sometimes implicated, and probiotics are then recommended.”
Check labels on foods. Many packaged foods have sugar in them, including breads and many canned goods. Eat a lot of plain yogurt. I like it better if I put it in the blender and drink it.
Take lots of acidophilus . Health food stores have some good remedies as well. The clerk should be able to guide you to the most effective ones. You have to get extreme for a while, eating a lot of the the good foods and none of the bad.
Tea Tree oil has a lot of properties that can help. Also eat a lot of garlic. Yogurt has acidophillis which actually eat the candida so eat lots of yogurt.
I use Yeast Fighters. It’s an herbal supplement. Have you looked into Grapefruit Seed Extract? It has amazing results in fighting candida. http://nutriteam.com/gse/index2.html
People answering your question don’t seem to understand it can attack your whole body.
sounds like you have a yeast infection right! If it is in your mouth! Also called thrush! I get it too when I take anitbiotics I have to take dififucin it’s a pill that gets rid of candida! Also don’t drink anything with caffeine it makes it worse Or you can ask your Dr. for this liquid that you swollow called nysatin! It sucks to have that in your mouth becuase it feels like your tounge as fur growing on it! Good luck I hope this helps!
The side effects of long term anti-biotics administration are fungus infections particularly from Candida albicans. Use Clotrimazole cream for external use. Also put your undergarments in boiling water, wash it and dry them in hot sun shine. Continue aplying the cream evenafter the symptoms subside. There is possibility to reinfect the candida fungus even if the same is cured.
have your tried Amphotericin B??? maybe try that. Its very stong so you might have to take it in lower dosage ask your physician about it. also you don’t want to be treated with anitbiotics because candida is a fungi that causes thrush.
How long have you been on the diet? It takes some time to get rid of the yeast. Also, you can’t just be on the diet and not take supplements like Probotics. Are you being seen by an alternative practitioner? Have you tried to add acupuncture? There are a lot of steps you need to take in order to get rid of the yeast.

There is some good info on this website
Get some “Canestan” pessaries and shove them up your hole for a few days – it’s the only thing that works – forget the yoghurt crap!
Take “Live Acidophilus” pills, it is the only thing that worked for me. Good luck.
